Janet Davis

I have been a photographer for a little over 7 years now,
even though I've always taken pictures.  It started with my
dad's 35mm Minolta SLR over 20 years ago.
It took me that long to realize my passion.
My favorite thing about photography is being able
to capture things I see and sharing them with you.

I completed the New York Institute of Photography's
professional photographer course.  Why did I choose NYIP?
The course was excellent, but W. Eugene Smith
attended - and I was sold.  I still attend workshops and
take college courses whenever possible.
Photography is an ever changing field, and you can
never learn too much.  I started out with film, as I believe
everyone should - you learn the TRUE methods.  I now
shoot digital, except for color/black & white infrared.

I love to photograph everything, but I specialize in fine art, pet, small product and wedding photography.  I don't want
to limit myself to just one area - I enjoy it too much.

I am originally from Tennessee, but have lived in all kinds of places. We moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 2004 from Alaska - talk about a change!  My husband is military, which explains the major change in geography.  He also enjoys photography and shoots old school - with a Leica.

I hope you enjoy the world I've done my best to capture.
